To be successful, an innovation process must deliver three things: superior solutions, lower risks and costs of change, and user buy-in

More recently, we have seen design thinking being used to drive innovation in organisations. Mainly applied in product development, process design etc., design thinking has wide range applications.

But can design thinking be applied in HR?

79% of executives in this year’s  Global Human Capital Trends survey rated design thinking an important issue.

We have been researching around this and here’s what we found.

Design Thinking focuses on problems that are complex by nature as well as problems that affect people. It helps to bring the ‘Human’ back into HR.

Companies like LinkedIn, Citrix, Nestlé and Cisco have already successfully implemented Design Thinking in HR for different purposes.

Design thinking can be used to address various questions like:

  • How can older and younger colleagues learn from each other?
  • How can we accelerate recruitment?
  • How can we reduce staff turnover in the first six months?
  • How can we retain talent?

And many more
