Here’s a true story.

Not that long ago, a young man joined his engineering college. And like all engineering colleges of the 1990s – this one was also poorly equipped. So much so that the hostel rooms did not have a study table. Two boys were expected to share one table or sometimes, there were no tables for studying in a room.

After a few months of complaining and pleading, the young man had left all hopes of having a study table.

As time went by, one of the students in the same hostel, committed suicide by hanging himself.

All the boys were shocked, and nobody wanted to stay in that building. At 12 in the night, some of the boys complained of a screeching sound of a table being pulled across the floor. Everyone was scared and decided to vacate the hostel building immediately.

The next day when they walked in, they saw a scene which startled all of them. This young man was the only guy sleeping in the hostel building that whole night. They saw him sleeping with a triumphant smile and a big study table next to him.

While most of his friends were shocked; some including me (his wife) are still wondering after 25 years – how he did it !

Interestingly, when life gives us lemons, most of us complain, others like this young man, actually make lemonade out of it.

When the going gets tough…..
